Spring House

Connecting with the Divine Feminine

Throughout time, almost every religious tradition or wisdom philosophy has contained within it the seeds of the Sacred Feminine. We know some of the names people have given her:  Sophia, Wisdom, Mary, Divine Mother, Corn Woman, Kali, Coatlicue, Oshun, and Quan Yin are just a few. And yet over time, many traditions have lost or erased the feminine presence in their spiritual practices.

At Spring House, we believe that the loss of the Sacred Feminine consciousness has starved the growth of our very souls. In order to fully connect with God, the Sacred Feminine aspect must be healed and whole. We think unifying masculine and feminine is vital for wholeness on all levels: within our own hearts, throughout our communities, and across the globe. When we imagine the Divine as Mother, it changes our perceptions, broadens our minds, and expands our spirits.

Finally, while we do not believe that the Divine is literally gendered, binary, or confined to images of humans, we do feel that unearthing ideas of  the Sacred Feminine are necessary to connect fully to the Divine. This is important work, and Spring House is committed to sharing this vision.

Why This Work is Important

When we name the Divine Feminine, we are recognizing the Sacred Presence that is flowing in and through all things. She is life-sparking, nurturing, compassionate and immanent in all creation. Our mission is to bring her into the mainstream of culture and spirituality. Spring House is a place for all; all genders, all faiths, all travelers seeking meaning, mystery and a well-spring of creative life.
